ISS Blog Hop – Something New

There are so many new products being released on May 6 and we wanted to take this month to show you some of our favorites. It was really hard to pick what to work with, but I decided on using my favorite suite from the new catalogue.

The patterned paper, stamp set, embellishments, and ribbon are all from the new Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection. It has beautiful landscape and oil painting motifs along with fancy wallpaper inspired products… you’ll see what I mean when you get the set.

I haven’t made any home decor products in awhile but I saw this frame at Michael’s and wanted to see what I could do with it. I stamped directly onto a window sheet and used glue dots to adhere it to the frame. It makes a really neat 3D effect and the text even casts a shadow on the DSP.

Tip: A little water washes away ink from the water-based ink pads (not StazOn) so you can have a lot of tries at this. It takes a looooooong time to dry but don’t use your heat tool on it or it’ll melt the plastic. And don’t press too hard because it’s very easy to smudge while doing the stamping.

This would be such a great project to feature some small heirlooms or other items inside the frame, but I also really like it as is.

Make sure you check out what my mom made! There are so many fun things coming out and I’m really excited to see what she chose to work with.

Happy crafting!
