For this month, we thought it would be good to practice a technique! This is a card made using masking paper. I find it tricky to use sometimes because you need it to stick well, but not too much. I feel like this card came out fairly well, but certainly not perfect.
I love blending brushes and I thought it would be fun to make a card that looked like a window! I used masking tape around the edges and for the cross in the middle. Then I used blending brushes to make the background and finally stamped the images. I didn’t do the blending perfectly, as you can see some spots where Pumpkin Pie ink had gotten on my fingers without me noticing, but overall I’m happy with how it came out.

For the sentiment I decided to use a small stamp that I thought would look classy, but I messed it up and it was smeared on one side. So I figured I would go over the words in marker to fix it. I’m not nearly as precise as a stamp, but I think it looks like it is semi-intentional? At least, no one would probably notice except for me and now all of you.
Next, please check out a card made by Mary Lou Green! She always has such neat designs and I’m excited to see what she does with masking.
On a personal note, I’ve been recovering from covid the past few weeks. I can’t believe how long the symptoms have lasted. I hope you all are staying safe and don’t get sick! It’s not fun, and I feel too fatigued to do much crafting, but hopefully I’ll get back into it soon.
I hope you all stay well. Happy crafting!

Oh no, Malia, so sorry you haven’t been feeling well. You still came up with a great card! I love the blended colors you chose.
