I’ve been intimidated by the Happy Little Things stamp set for awhile now. It’s bold and fun and I love when sentiments are in different colors or when part of them is cut out and popped up, but I could never get my mind around how to do it. The best way to learn was to try it out.

I’m thrilled to report that this was super easy. I even managed to stamp the border around the bold words without using some sort of positioning tool. The fact that the stamps are clear made it easy, albeit heart-pounding. I also think the bold stamps came out pretty clearly. They’re not blotchy and the border helps them look crisp.

I wasn’t sure if this type of card had a name, so I figured trimmed flap card makes sense. Do you consider this a fun fold? My mom and I have had some debates over what, exactly, constitutes a fun fold. My definition is any card that alters the base of the card — so it no longer measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 when folded. Or if it’s laid out it won’t be the same dimensions as a standard card… you get it, right?

Anyway, by my book that means this is a fun fold! And what an easy one to achieve. It’s fun that part of the outside of the card is also the inside of the card. I think it makes a striking look and requires very little effort.
This is also a way for me to feature one of my favorite DSPs! It is so beautiful it doesn’t need any embellishment.

Have you ever tried making a layered sentiment like this? Do you have any tips?
Happy crafting!

How have I overlooked this pretty stamp set?! I love the way it stamps the sentiment and then outlines it! I’m anxious to see if anyone else thinks this is a fun fold. Anyway, I like all your cards- thanks for sharing!
