For this month’s blog hop, we decided to feature the new in colors! I thought it would be fun to make a card that looks more intricate, like the ones I see in the catalog that have lots of thing die cut out and glued behind sentiments with ribbon and lots of embellishments. And like always, I had a hard time deciding on a color scheme. So I figured, why not do a bunch?

This sentiment set is one of my very favorites. It’s fun and modern and it makes me laugh. I love how some of them have punctuation! Also, so much of the time I use sentiments to come up with a nice thing to say, and so I think the “Insert Clever Message Here” is so funny and useful for people who aren’t sure what to write in cards.

Also, I tried 3D embossing the base of the card and I think it turned out really well! It creates a fun texture and I don’t have to worry about cutting out another piece of cardstock. I was a little worried things wouldn’t adhere well, but everything seemed to work fine.

Which color combination do you like best?
Next, please check out a card made by Mary Lou Green! She always has such neat designs and I’m excited to see what she does with the new In Colors.
Happy crafting!

Oh… I can’t choose just one! Love all the colors! And your layout is so great! Would it be possible to get the measurements for your DSP pieces?

Love it! And your first picture is beautiful. You need to give me some photo tips. I can’t believe I never even noticed that stamp set with that clever inside sentiment.

Malia, I like Petunia Pop the best – but they’re all gorgeous. I appreciate seeing the same design in 4 colorways as I think it helps the viewer see elements they might have otherwise missed.
And I agree with Mary, you have great photos!
