Advent is my favorite liturgical season. It’s a time of expectation and reflection. It also has a few traditions that I love. One of those is hearing O Come, O Come Emmanuel once or twice at mass every week (this song is wonderful but someone should write more Advent songs). Another is the advent wreath.
Growing up, we had an advent wreath made out of metal with five candle slots. The fifth candle was a white candle that we lit on Christmas. We would light it every night at dinner during Advent and Christmas. I have fond memories of switching the purple candles around so the first one didn’t totally burn down before the last got its chance to be lit.
Anyway, once I saw this stamp set I knew I had to make a card with it. I anticipate keeping this set even once it’s been retired and using it for many Advents to come.
